Program Description:

Earn an Undergraduate degree from TDU!

graduationAn undergraduate degree from Terra Dotta University will help prepare you for a career in a wide variety of fields.  As an international student, you will take classes that will not only impove your English-speaking abilities, but also prepare you for an exciting career in a variety of fields.

An undergradate degree typically takes four years to complete.  Once accepted into the program, you will be able to choose a 'major' or area of study any time during the first two years of the program.  By the beginning of the third year, you must have a major declared so that you will be able to take classes that focus on your major during the final two years of the program.  (For specific academic information, please view the academics page on the university website.)

During the first year of the program, all students are required to live on campus.  This provides a wonderful opportunity to make close relationships with other international students as well as American students.  After the first year, students can choose to continue living on campus or move to an off-campus apartment.  Some international students prefer to live with a host-family, which can be arranged upon request.

All international applicants must complete the typical application requirements and also provide additional information about finances and proficiency in English.

As an international student, you will be required to obtain a student visa from the US government.  Failure to do so will mean that you cannot attend TDU even if your application is accepted.  During the four years of studying in the US, you will have to maintain your visa at all times.  You will receive more information about this during the application process.

Who should apply to TDU as an undergraduate student?

Undergraduate students are typically recent high school graduates and apply to TDU with the intention of studying here for at least four years.  If you did not complete high school or an equivalent program, you will not be eligible for acceptance.  Applicants must have adequate funds or be sponsored in order to be accepted.  Living in the United States for four years is expensive and you must be prepared to pay for your expenses.  Some applicants are able to find sponsors, scholarships or loans to pay for their studies in the US.

An undergraduate student is someone who wants to earn a four-year degree from Terra Dotta University.

When should I apply to Terra Dotta University as an undergraduate?

The majority of students apply to TDU for the Fall semester of the current year.  This is because students typically graduate from high school in the Spring and intend to begin their university studies the following Fall semester.  However, we do accept applications for the Spring semester and the Summer semester as well.  You should begin your application at least 3 months prior to the deadline.  Which semester for which you apply will depend on when you will be able to travel to the US.

Applying to Terra Dotta University takes time; plan ahead, and be patient.  Work within a realistic timeframe.  Academic calendars begin two or more times each calendar year.  If you do not have enough time to apply and be admitted for the next semester or session, look ahead to the next available start date.

Apply by April 1 for a fall semester start date, or October 1 for a spring semester start date.

How much will it cost to attend TDU?

The cost of attending TDU and living in the US for four years will vary from person to person.  Please look at the budget sheets at the top of the page for a break down of costs.  The estimate includes airfare, room and board, insurance, and "out of state" tuition.

What requirements are part of the application?

For the undergraduate application, applicants will be required to submit the following items:

  • $100 (US) Application Fee
  • Official copy of High School Diploma and Transcript
  • Official TOEFL score proving proficiency in English
  • Proof of Health Insurance or intent to purchase TDU insurance
  • Confidential Financial Statement
