F-1 Student Visa Holders
General Information
Most TDU international students hold F-1 student status, a non-immigrant student visa that allows non-U.S citizens to pursue education (academic studies and/or language training programs) in the United States. After being admitted to an Student and Exchange Visitor (SEVP)-ceritified school, students are issued an I-20 which they can used to secure an F-1 student visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate Abroad. F-1 students must maintain a full course of study and show that they are able to support themselves during their stay in the U.S., as their opportunities for legal employment are limited.
F-1 students are responsible for maintaining their F-1 status while in the US.
