J-1 Initial Arrival Report

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is an inter-agency government database that maintains information on students and exchange visitors in the U.S. As a J-1 program sponsor, ISSS creates and updates the SEVIS records for all J-1 students and scholars participating in programs at Terra Dotta University. It is your responsibility to confirm your arrival and current information to ISSS. Your arrival will then be validated by ISSS in the SEVIS database to activate your SEVIS record. Failure to provide timely reporting of arrival and current information may jeopardize your legal immigration status in the US.

When reporting your initial arrival, you will have to provide the following information:

  • US Physical Address (Where you will live; cannot be a P.O. Box)
  • US Mailing Address (Where you will accept mail)
  • J-1 Exchange Visitor's Email Address
  • Optional: J-1/J-2 EV's Phone Number, J-2's Email Address
